HR’s Next Competitive Advantage — Metabolic Health
Debbie Krider, Ed.D.
Dr. Deb's Life and Wellness Coaching

In today’s competitive landscape, organizations must continue to understand how the workplace and our society impact our employees wellbeing to know how to drive sustainable performance and cost containment. HR leaders are uniquely positioned to shape not only the employee experience at work, but also the long-term health trajectory of their workforce.
This session reframes metabolic health as a strategic business priority — not just a personal health issue. Participants will gain a clear, data-driven understanding of how metabolic dysfunction drives chronic disease, absenteeism, presenteeism, mental health challenges, and escalating healthcare claims.
From insight to implementation, we will explore practical policy shifts, environmental design strategies, leadership influence, and measurable actions that HR teams can tailor to their workplace culture. Attendees will leave with a framework of actionable options to improve workforce health, reduce organizational costs, strengthen their company’s competitive edge, and cultivate a culture of health that sustains well-being.
During this session, we will:
- Explain the connection between metabolic health, chronic disease prevalence, workforce performance, and rising healthcare costs.
- Identify key drivers of absenteeism, presenteeism, and mental health challenges related to metabolic dysfunction.
- Evaluate practical policy shifts, environmental design strategies, and leadership behaviors that support improved metabolic health within diverse workplace settings.
- Develop a tailored framework with their team of actionable, measurable strategies to enhance workforce health, reduce organizational costs, and build a sustainable culture of health.
About the Speaker:
Debbie Krider began her career in New Hampshire as a licensed psychotherapist before advancing into senior healthcare leadership roles. Raised working in her parents’ grocery store, she developed strong operational instincts early on — a skillset that led to multiple leadership promotions and ultimately 13 years serving as a Chief Operating Officer. She later earned a Doctorate of Education focused on behavioral health and healthcare management, strengthening her expertise in both people and systems.
After relocating to Florida, Debbie felt called to return to personal impact work and founded Dr. Deb’s Life and Wellness Coaching. Today, she helps individuals create meaningful, sustainable change in both their emotional and physical well-being. She does consulting related to her expertise when called upon and helps clients build emotional resilience, clarify goals, strengthen decision-making, and move from feeling stuck to gaining clarity and momentum.
On the wellness side, Debbie meets clients where they are on their journey to wellness. After her extensive research and meeting the founding doctor and CEO of a clinically proven nutritional program she decided to partner with the organization. The program may qualify for FSA and HSA reimbursement when medically appropriate — a rare distinction in the nutrition and wellness field.
